Guidance from the Qur’an and Sunnah as understood by the Salaf-us-Saliheen
Early Life & Family Background
Sister Dijah Imedi Musa was born on 15 August 1978 at Chawama Clinic in Lusaka, Zambia. She is the second child of Amos Joseph Imedi, a driver, and Catherine Phiri, a businesswoman and farmer. Later, her father had additional children with his second wife, Beauty Phiri, expanding the family to a total of nine siblings — three women and six men.
From an early age, Sister Dijah was nurtured in a home firmly grounded in Islamic teaching and values, a foundation that shaped her character and lifelong commitments.
Educational Background, Experience & Expertise
Sister Dijah began her education at Makeni Islamic Primary School, where she studied from nursery through to the completion of primary in 1991. She then continued to Makeni Islamic High School, completing both her junior and senior secondary education between 1992 and 1996.
In April 1997, she underwent internal training at the Makeni Islamic Society, where she was introduced to basic computer skills and office management. This training marked the beginning of her professional journey.
On 5 September 1997, she officially joined the Makeni Islamic Society Trust as a secretary in the Main Administration Department. Over the years, she was transferred across multiple departments, gaining valuable insight into the organisation’s inner workings. In 2022, she returned to the Main Administration, and on 15 August 2025, she concluded her remarkable 28-year career with the Society.
Throughout her career, she remained committed to personal and professional growth:
- Elementary & Intermediate Typing Certificates
- Shorthand Certificate (90 w.p.m.) – Regent College, 2005
- Computer Course in Microsoft Word & Excel – Makeni Vocational College, 2004
- Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) – National Institute of Public Administration, June 1999 – June 2000
