Our Foundation & Methodology
The Muslim Reverts Worldwide Forum – (MRWF) is founded upon the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, understood and practiced according to the way of the Salaf-us-Saliheen.
This foundation is not symbolic. It is functional, guiding every aspect of our understanding, teaching, conduct, and direction.
Allah says:
“And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers — We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell.”
Qur’an 4:115
MRWF adheres to the way of the believers who first received and lived this religion.
The Qur’an as the Primary Foundation
The Qur’an is the first and greatest source of guidance for MRWF.
It is the speech of Allah, revealed as light, guidance, and criterion.
Allah says:
“This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those who are conscious of Allah.”
Qur’an 2:2
MRWF understands the Qur’an as it was understood by the Prophet ﷺ and his Companions Radiyallahu anhum, not through personal interpretation detached from the earliest generations.
The Qur’an explains itself, and it is explained by the Sunnah.
The Authentic Sunnah as Explanation and Practice
The Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ is inseparable from the Qur’an.
Allah says:
“And We revealed to you the Reminder that you may explain to the people what was sent down to them.”
Qur’an 16:44
MRWF holds that Islam cannot be correctly understood, practiced, or preserved without adherence to the authentic Sunnah.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever holds fast to my Sunnah has indeed been guided.”
Reported by al-Hakim
Our methodology is to follow the Sunnah in belief, worship, character, and conduct.
Understanding Islam Through the Salaf-us-Saliheen
MRWF follows the understanding of the Salaf-us-Saliheen — the first three generations praised by the Prophet ﷺ.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The best of people are my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them.”
Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim
Their understanding represents the clearest, safest, and most authentic comprehension of Islam. MRWF does not claim a new interpretation or a revised framework. We adhere to what was already complete.
Evidence Before Opinion
MRWF prioritizes evidence over emotion, culture, or personal inclination.
Allah says:
“And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger.”
Qur’an 4:59
Opinions are weighed against revelation. Practices are measured against proof. Claims are accepted only with evidence.
Imam ash-Shafi‘i Rahimahullah said:
“If you find in my words something that contradicts the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, then throw my words against the wall.”
This principle governs our methodology.
Balance Without Compromise
MRWF rejects extremism and negligence alike.
Islam is a religion of balance, but balance is defined by revelation, not by compromise.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Beware of extremism in religion, for those before you were destroyed by extremism.”
Sunan an-Nasa’i
MRWF upholds moderation rooted in evidence, not dilution of the religion to fit trends or pressures.
Clarity Over Complexity
MRWF believes that Islam is clear in its foundations.
Allah says:
“Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship.”
Qur’an 2:185
Complexity is not depth. Confusion is not scholarship. MRWF seeks to teach Islam with clarity, order, and accessibility, especially for those new to the faith.
Knowledge as a Trust
Islamic knowledge is an amanah.
Allah says:
“Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due.”
Qur’an 4:58
MRWF is committed to conveying knowledge accurately, responsibly, and with humility. We do not rush teaching, nor do we withhold clarity where it is needed.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Convey from me, even if it is one verse.”
Sahih al-Bukhari
Unity Upon Truth, Not Compromise
MRWF seeks unity, but unity upon truth.
Allah says:
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.”
Qur’an 3:103
Unity that abandons evidence is not unity. MRWF avoids sectarianism, partisanship, and ideological labels while remaining firmly anchored to the foundations of Islam.
