MRWF — Regulations & Protocols for Non-Muslim Executive Members

Guidance and protocols for non-Muslim individuals serving on the Executive Body of The Muslim Reverts Worldwide Forum (MRWF).

Purpose

This document provides clear guidance for non-Muslim individuals approved to serve on the Executive Body of The Muslim Reverts Worldwide Forum (MRWF). Its intent is to ensure respect for Islamic values, safeguard organizational integrity, and enable effective contribution to MRWF’s charitable and community work.

1. Respect for Islamic Principles

  • Core Values: All members must respect and uphold MRWF’s mission, which is founded on Islamic values and service to reverts and the vulnerable.
  • Religious Observances: Be aware of and accommodate prayer times, Islamic holidays, and fasting periods observed by staff and members.
  • Non-Interference: Do not engage in religious interpretation or attempt to influence the organization’s religious guidance.

2. Professional Conduct

  • Integrity & Confidentiality: Maintain high ethical standards and protect all confidential organizational information.
  • Representation: Public representation of MRWF should focus on organizational matters. Avoid speaking on behalf of the religion unless explicitly authorized.
  • Conflict of Interest: Declare any personal, financial, or professional conflicts that could affect MRWF’s activities.

3. Participation in Governance

  • Decision-Making: Participate in strategic, operational, and administrative decisions, while deferring to Muslim leaders on purely religious matters.
  • Voting: Non-Muslim members may vote on non-religious organizational matters (finance, programs, partnerships).
  • Advisory Role: Offer cultural, legal, or operational insights as appropriate, but respect the authority of Muslim leadership on doctrinal issues.

4. Communication Protocols

  • Internal Communication: Use respectful language, and observe Islamic etiquette in meetings and written communication.
  • External Communication: Coordinate public statements, press releases, and social media with the designated communications officer or Muslim spokesperson.
  • Sensitivity: Avoid remarks or actions that could misrepresent Islam or MRWF’s mission.

5. Operational Participation

  • Charitable Activities: Lead and manage logistical aspects of projects (food drives, distributions, fundraising) while allowing Muslim members to manage religious content.
  • Event Management: Coordinate events and logistics; defer religious segments (recitation, khutbahs) to qualified Muslim personnel.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records and follow MRWF reporting and documentation protocols.

6. Training & Orientation

  • Islamic Awareness Training: Attend orientation about Islamic etiquette, core beliefs, and cultural norms relevant to MRWF’s work.
  • Organizational Policies: Review MRWF’s constitution, safeguarding policies, and governance documents prior to assuming duties.
  • Continuous Learning: Seek ongoing understanding of the community MRWF serves without engaging in religious debate.

7. Accountability

  • Reporting: Report to the Executive Director/President or assigned supervisor, and follow established lines of accountability.
  • Performance Review: Participate in regular performance reviews that assess contributions, professionalism, and adherence to MRWF protocols.
  • Removal Protocol: Non-compliance with these regulations may result in suspension or removal following due process.

8. Ethical & Cultural Respect

  • Respect for Diversity: Value the diverse backgrounds of reverts and stakeholders and act with cultural sensitivity.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Be mindful of dress codes, dietary restrictions, and the sensitivities of religious practice during events and engagements.
  • Mutual Respect: Foster collaboration built on mutual respect between Muslim and non-Muslim members.
